About Bird

Bird Tackett is an Education Consultant at Secure Ideas, where he supports the Professionally Evil training classes and contributes research across a wide range of projects. His work spans embedded systems and hands-on technical research, and he moves between teams wherever a project needs his skills.

A lifelong tinkerer, Bird can take a car completely apart and put it back together. That mechanical instinct carries directly into his security work, where understanding how a system is built is the first step toward understanding how it can fail.

Bird’s background is in automotive engineering. He previously worked for a government contractor, rebuilding the interiors of federal and state law enforcement vehicles. In that role he earned certifications as an Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) and as a Whelen Master Tech, credentials that reflect both technical depth and a commitment to precision work in demanding, high-stakes environments. He is now focused on earning his CISSP as he builds on that foundation in the security field.

Bird’s natural curiosity and drive for research make him a strong fit for education consulting. He enjoys digging into how things work and then turning that knowledge into something others can learn from. At Secure Ideas, that means helping the team give back to the community through education and training opportunities that are practical, hands-on, and grounded in real-world experience.
