Josh Kemp is a Security Consultant at Secure Ideas. He spends most of his time on internal and external network assessments, with web, mobile, and cloud work mixed in. A lot of it comes down to the same thing: finding the credentials sitting in a file share nobody has audited since the server was built. He came to security sideways, after years as a DJ and bar manager. That turns out to be decent preparation. Both jobs mean reading a room, staying composed when something fails in front of an audience, and explaining a problem to someone who does not want to hear it. He went back for a degree in Computer Information Technology and has been testing networks professionally ever since.
Outside of work, Josh repairs and modifies Technics turntables and other small electronics and went to school for classical guitar.
